Under Czech Act No. 539/1992 Sb. on hallmarking, domestic and foreign goods intended for trade in the Czech Republic are subject to compulsory hallmarking (puncovní kontrola), unless the Act provides otherwise. Under § 92 of the Czech VAT Act (No. 235/2004 Sb.), the supply of investment gold in the Czech Republic, its acquisition from another member state and its import are exempt from VAT without the right to deduct.
